The late Chief Omejevwe Mevayero Duku, a former Councilor of Ughelli South Local Government Area legislative arm, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Effurun-Otor, amidst tears from family, friends, and well-wishers.
The burial ceremony, which took place following Hon. Chief Duku’s passing on January 4, 2025, was attended by prominent politicians and chiefs from the Effurun-Otor kingdom, along with his family and friends.
During the service, Pastor Willie Igben of the Word of Life Bible Church delivered a sermon titled “Adam, Where Are Thou?” referencing scriptures from 1 Peter 1:24-25 and Job 14:1.
He emphasized the transient nature of human life, stating that “man is born of a woman for a few days and full of troubles.”
