Cherubim And Seraphim Worshipers Celebrate 50th Anniversary, Rewards 50 Members – Independent Newspaper Nigeria


The Worshippers, a variant of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) unification Church, on Saturday celebrated its 50th anniversary of gospel preaching, projected for its sustainability and rewarded 50 of its members for their contributions to the growth of the Church and the gospel.
The anniversary which served as a stock-taking of the organisation’s impact to society, held at its Iponri, Surulere Lagos headquarters, recognised some of its late pioneering members with awards and rewarded some living ones to encourage people to work for humanity and God.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, the Church, that has established its parishes in places such as Benin, Ijebu Ode in Ogun State, Osun and the diaspora, has acquired a large expanse land to construct its Prayer Ground known as “Worshippers City” in Ogun.
Speaking at the event to mark the church’s golden jubilee, Primate Johnson Koledola-kunlipe, the Spiritual Leader of the Worshippers, said that, the church is filled with gratitude to God for being with the body for the past years.
Koledola-kunlipe said that, from its inception in 1975, the Church has continued to anchor its philosophy on the well-being of the individual person and society and after 50 years, a rejig of its objective was being considered to improve on the philosophy to serve the society in years to come.
According to him the church just like others has had its challenges and turbulent times, but with God’s guidance those were surmounted and the church forged ahead.
Mr Femi Awoyemi, Chairman Anniversary Planning Committee said that, the church of God must move forward with a responsive approach to the teachings and work of the gospel.
“The leadership of the Church, that is, our elders have played noble roles in keeping the Church one, it behoves us the youth to build in unison from the ladder they placed on our shoulders.
“The vision of the church is for us to have a prayer ground like other churches that will house facilities such as women development centre, children school, health centre and a library.
“Such lofty projects are for the church’s sustainability and responsiveness to humanity’s needs.
“We the younger generation must as a matter of obligation ensure we raise funds to bring the worshippers city to completion,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, Rev.Tayo Ajose C&S Unification General Secretary said that, the body demanded commitment toward achieving the body’s goal of unification.
Ajose, commended the worshippers leadership for its pro-life humanitarian works especially to the less privileged in the society, saying faith should be seen put to action or work.
