Chelsea continued their climb up the Premier League table with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, moving up to fourth ahead of the weekend’s remaining fixtures.

Despite an error-filled first half, the Blues found their rhythm after the break to secure a commanding victory at the City Ground.

Acheampong breaks deadlock as Chelsea take control

Josh Acheampong opened the scoring early in the second half with his first senior goal for the club, raising the morale of Enzo Maresca’s men.

Minutes later, Pedro Neto doubled the advantage with a fine free-kick goal, maintaining his fine form and putting the visitors firmly in control of the contest.

James adds rhird before Gusto sees red

Captain Reece James capped off an impressive performance with Chelsea’s third goal late on, before Malo Gusto was sent off for a second yellow card in stoppage time.

Nottingham Forest created several scoring chances but were wasteful in front of goal, leaving Ange Postecoglou, who has now been sacked with no win in eight games in charge of the side.
