Champions League: Conte on trial against Barcelona – Guilt

Former Chelsea boss, Ruud Guilt, has stated that current manager, Antonio Conte, is going to find himself, “on trial against Barcelona” in the Champions last 16 on Wednesday.

Gullit said the Italian is under pressure to get his tactics right in the crucial Champions League clash.

The Blues head to Camp Nou on Wednesday for the second leg of the last-16 encounter.

A 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge has the odds piled in Barca’s favour, with Chelsea aware that they will need to score at least once in order to reach the quarter-finals.

Guilt admitted that Conte will have a key role to play as he endeavours to formulate a match-winning game plan.

He told Sky Sports, “He’s on trial against Barcelona.

“He’s going to show us if he has the right tactics, if he has the right changes.

“Look at Tottenham, look at what Juventus did – one change, two changes and the whole game changes.

“That’s what you expect from a coach and you need to do that. That’s fantastic to see. And if you don’t see that at the right moment, then you get criticised.”

Chelsea impressed on home soil against Barca, with Willian firing them in front on the night.

The Blues were, however, unable to contain Lionel Messi for 90 minutes and the Argentine levelled with a priceless away goal.

  1. I can’t tell about the game between the big team in England and Spain, but anything can happen one person must go down.

  2. This shouldn’t have been the game to trial the manager, rather the premier league matches say in the next 5 matches

  3. In football anything is possible. If conte field a natural number 9 striker with hazard on his natural wing they will be a good result. He shouldnt play eden hazard as a number nine.

  4. I pray God in his infinite mercy that we should surprise barca and perform wonders by disqualifying barca in Jesus name
