During a courtesy visit leading a Chadian delegation to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in Maiduguri, Mr. Bisso emphasized that stronger synergy between the two countries’ armed forces is essential to defeating Boko Haram and other criminal networks threatening regional peace.

He praised the Nigerian military’s resilience and sacrifices in counterterrorism efforts, highlighting the exemplary partnership between Nigerian and Chadian forces.

On trade and border matters, Mr. Bisso called for ongoing dialogue to bridge communication gaps and assured that Chad is educating its citizens on Nigeria’s trade regulations and anti-contraband measures. 

“Mutual understanding and cooperation are key to sustaining border commerce and trust,” he said.

In response, Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar hailed Chad as a “trusted brother and strategic ally,” underscoring shared security and cultural ties. 

He pledged OPHK’s full commitment to collaboration under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to protect borders and waterways.

General Abubakar stressed the critical role of information sharing and coordination, promising to address the Consul General’s concerns. 

“It is our duty to protect legitimate trade and ensure that goods and livelihoods do not fall into the hands of terrorists,” he affirmed.

The meeting allowed discussions on regional stability, cross-border trade, and safeguarding Chadian citizens in Nigeria. Mr. Bisso was joined by Consulate Liaison Officer Major Oumar Tahir Attahir.
