Rivers United forward Ubong Friday has expressed optimism about the team’s prospects in the CAF Champions League.

The Pride of Rivers will face defending champions Pyramids FC in their opening group-stage match of the competition. The encounter is scheduled for the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Saturday.

Friday stated that his team is capable of securing a positive result.

“We can upset them by going all out to face them here in cairo with all we have as we all know the importance of this game and why we are here, we are here to do what we know how to do best,” Friday told Sportlight Hub.

“We played ourselves to the group stage and we are looking to play ourselves to the next stage as well.”
