President Bola Tinubu on Thursday congratulated Adebayo Awosemo, Deputy Managing Director of Arise TV, as he clocked 70.

In a statement issued by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu praised Awosemo’s contributions to journalism and public relations.

Highlighting his decades-long career at NTA, OMPADEC, and Addax Petroleum, Tinubu commended Awosemo’s impact on the media and governance and acknowledged his role in shaping narratives at Arise TV.

The leader of the Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch has released a new video, outlining her party’s immigration policy changes.

The video is a follow-up to her BBC interview where she stated that she would make it harder for immigrants to gain citizenship in the United Kingdom. Kemi posted the video on X and it has elicited a flurry of reactions.

Special adviser to the president on policy communication, Daniel Bwala, has tackled former Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai saying that he lacks the capacity to “unsettle” President Bola Tinubu.

Bwala made the statement during a television interview on Thursday, adding that Tinubu is unbothered by El-Rufai’s continued criticism of his administration.

It was a spectacular night of elegance and splendor, as dignitaries gathered at the grand ballroom, Jewel Aieda in Lekki to celebrate Chief Opral Benson, the Iya-Oge of Lagos, as she turned 90.

Chief Benson was born in Liberia and was married to the flamboyant lawyer and politician, the late Chief T.O.S Benson, Nigeria’s former minister of information.

Opral Bendon is well known for her significant contributions to fashion, education, and cultural diplomacy, and was conferred the distinguished chieftaincy title of the Iya-Oge of Lagos, Queen of Fashion by Oba Adeyinka Oye-kan in 1973, making her the first woman to be awarded the honor by a traditional ruler in Nigeria.

With over 100 awards and honors, Opral Benson received the Order of Star Africa, with the title of grand commander, from the president of Liberia, Joseph Boakai.

The award was conferred on her by the country’s foreign minister on the occasion of her 90 birthday celebration.

The event was organized by her stepdaughter, Bimbo Cardoso who produced the stage play Opral In Theather, Salute To Opral Benson at 90, An African Story.
