The Kebbi State branch of African Democratic Congress has dissociated itself from the allegation of a ₦20bn bureau de change fraud against the Kebbi State government from the suspended Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Engineer Sufiyanu Bala.
According to the party, the genuine leadership of the party in Kebbi State does not recognise any ADC belonging to Abuja nomadic politicians and such none existing leadership have no right to speak on behalf of the party therefore such ridiculous allegations didn’t emanate from us and we hereby reject it in totality.
The party chairman, Abdulrazaq Isah Iko, in a statement on Thursday, stated that such disparaging and unfounded allegations against Kebbi State government was not from the only ADC party in state.
The party maintained that it’s type of opposition is formidable, responsible and no holds barred but as uncompromising opposition they dwell on facts just as we state achievements recorded under Kebbi state government because we are indigenes of the state who witnessed success in education, agriculture and infrastructure ” we will as opposition known over thirteen years ago before the coming of impostors masquerading as opposition continue to hold any government accountable to ensure judicious use of public funds by the sitting government but we will not engage in spurious, unguarded, unwarranted, mischievous and unfounded allegations against the government” he said.
Iko added that, the Sufiyanu led ADC is illegal therefore lack legal mandate to speak on behalf of the party and urged him to stop further comments and/ or publications on behalf of the party as such constitute conditional breach which is liable.
As strong opposition party in Kebbi state we will continue to put the government in check but we will not engage in statements that are capable of truncating prevailing peace in the state.
Recall that Malami support organization alleged that it spotted an alleged transaction of twenty billion naira at an undisclosed bureau de-change.
