Buni Attends 11TH Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture In Bauchi

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, attended the 11th annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture and Merit Award at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi. The event, themed “Nature’s Bounty: Turning Northern Nigeria’s Untapped Resources into Sustainable Prosperity,” brought together prominent leaders and stakeholders from Northern Nigeria.

Represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, Gov. Buni praised the legacies of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, and urged leaders to emulate his leadership qualities. The Deputy Governor highlighted the late Premier’s attributes, including fear of God, justice, fairness, and hard work, which enabled him to unite the Northern region.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, emphasized the foundation’s non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental mandate to foster the legacy and exemplary leadership of Sir Ahmadu Bello.

The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Mansur Muktar and George Akume, who stressed the importance of preserving the works and legacies of the late Premier and other leaders to guide future generations towards quality leadership and good governance.

Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Abdulkadir Bala Mohammed, noted that the Northern region is rich in natural resources and undergoing significant transformation. He emphasized the need for mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among the people to achieve meaningful development.

The event concluded with the presentation of scholarships to 10 selected students and the display of Sir Ahmadu Bello’s portrait.
