Buhari’s Granddaughter Halima Junaid Set To Wed In Kaduna

Halima Amirah Junaid, granddaughter of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, is set to wed Walid Shehu Mu’azu in a ceremony scheduled to take place in Kaduna State.

Wedding preparations kicked off this week in Abuja, with former First Lady Aisha Buhari hosting a women’s gathering ahead of the main celebration.

Halima is the daughter of the late Zulaihat Junaid, President Buhari’s first child, who tragically died during childbirth.

Zulaihat was married to Junaid Abdullahi. She was the daughter of the late Safinatu, Buhari’s first wife, who also passed away.

In a chat with TheCable Lifestyle, the wedding coordinator Abubakar Adamu shed light on the bride’s family background.

He stated that following Zulaihat’s death, former First Lady Aisha Buhari stepped in to care for the late president’s grandchildren.

Adamu also refuted widespread claims that wrongly linked Halima as the daughter of Buhari’s child who was married to Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney-General of the Federation.

“The mother of the bride is late. She was with her husband when she died. It was her sister who was married to Malami. Even the one that they gave birth to is still alive now. Because she died during childbirth,” he said.

“The boy is alive. All the children are with Aisha who is doing all that woman thing in Abuja. But the wedding proper would happen on the 30th.

“The culture is that it is the father who has to give his daughter out.”

The official wedding of Halima Amirah Junaid and Walid Shehu Mu’azu is set to take place on August 30 in Kaduna.

The wedding reception is slated to take place afterward at the renowned Kaduna Polo Club.
