Nigerian actor Tunde Usman, popularly known as Okele, has suggested a unique approach to addressing the country’s economic difficulties, “signing” foreign presidents to lead Nigeria.
The actor made the proposal while reacting to the recent hike in cooking gas prices across the nation in a video that has gone viral on his Instagram page.
He compared governance to football management, suggesting that Nigeria could adopt a system similar to how clubs hire and replace coaches to improve performance.

Speaking in Yoruba, he stated: “Greetings to all Nigerians, at home and abroad. May God help us ease this hardship. I was reflecting on how expensive gas and fuel have become in Nigeria.
“If you are familiar with football, you know that every club has a head coach, assistants, and trainers for goalkeepers. Instead of repeatedly campaigning for political parties while some leaders misuse public funds, why not look around the world and bring in former presidents who have succeeded elsewhere to help manage Nigeria?
“Football teams often hire coaches from other countries. Maybe we should adopt a similar method for our leadership—‘sign’ a President the way we sign a coach, and if they don’t perform, replace them with someone new.”
