Breaking: Tinubu Confers Posthumous National Honours on 4, Full List Emerges

FCT, Abuja – President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, September 24, conferred posthumous national honours on four “Ogoni heroes”.

Per videos posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Dada Olusegun, special assistant to President Tinubu on social media, the Nigerian leader received the report on the Ogoni consultations from the dialogue committee. The committee is comprised of key stakeholders of Ogoniland led by Rivers state governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The meeting happened at the state house council chambers, Abuja.

All the four honoured deceased south-south personalities were bestowed with Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

They are listed below, courtesy of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA):

  1. Chief Edward Kobani (CON).
  2. Chief Albert Badey (CON)
  3. Chief Samuel Orage (CON)
  4. Chief Theophilus Orage (CON)
