

The Rivers state Police command has rescued five victims who were abducted by cultists in Emuoha Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers state.
The victims identified as Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious, and London Sampson were reported kidnapped from their isolated residences by yet to be identified cultists.
According to the statement on Thursday morning by the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace lringe -Koko, the rescue operation was carried out around 1am on December 4, 2025, at Rumudogo 2 community.
She explained that the operation was executed by the command’s Tactical Teams in collaboration with other security agencies and with the support of local community members.
All the five victims were safely recovered and have since been taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
The commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, assured residents that the command is intensifying efforts to trace and apprehend the fleeing abductors to ensure that they face the full weight of the law.
He called for continued public cooperation with security agencies, while affirming the police command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
“Residents should go about their legitimate businesses without fear because their safety is our priority,” Adepoju said.
