A passenger train carrying passengers travelling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2025.
The incident left several carriages overturned and triggering panic among those on board.

It was gathered that the incident occurred along the popular corridor shortly after the train departed Abuja around 11 a.m., en route to Kaduna.
As reported by Arise News, one passenger described the scene as chaotic, with people scrambling to safety in fear and confusion.
The cause of the derailment remains unclear as at the time of filling in this report.
According to security sources, military personnel have been deployed to the site to assist in evacuating stranded passengers.
Meanwhile, authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
