Fuel prices at Nigerian filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) fell on Friday following the federal government’s suspension of a planned 15 percent import duty on petrol and diesel.
Ranoil and Empire filling stations reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N940 and N949 per litre, down from N955, marking a decrease of N6 to N15 per litre for motorists.
Chinedu Ukadike, spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), attributed the drop directly to the government’s decision to halt the import duty on fuel.
