Rivers state governor, Sim Fubara, on Friday arrived Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital to resume his official duties.

His resumption follows the lifting of the state of emergency rule by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The governor touched down the domestic wing of the Port Harcourt lnternational Airport, Omagwa at about 12:19pm with thousand of Rivers people on ground waiting to receive him.

His supporters also gathered on Friday at the Government House, Port Harcourt to receive him, but the Governor did not turn up as anticipated.

The governor will most likely address Rivers people later in the day.
