Laven Denty Jacob, the lawmaker representing Pankshin South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, has regained his freedom days after being abducted from his residence in Jos.
Confirming the development on Wednesday, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Kwarpo Sylvanus, said Jacob has safely rejoined his family.
“He has been successfully released, but we are yet to ascertain whether any ransom was given or paid. All we know is that he was released last night,” Sylvanus stated.
He noted that the lawmaker was in good health upon his return, while commending the swift response of security agencies and concerned citizens.
Sylvanus also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities, adding that legislators would continue to push for stronger laws to strengthen security in the state.
He further suggested the establishment of vigilante groups to complement formal security efforts.
