A bungling drug dealer offered officers a bag of cocaine during his arrest in Brighton, United Kingdom, Sussex Police revealed in a video of the surreal encounter.
Endri Lamaj, 23, of no fixed address, was apprehended on August 5 after being spotted dealing drugs near Sillwood Road. Footage released by Sussex Police shows Lamaj interacting with someone who appeared to be a customer before police handcuffed him.
When confronted, Lamaj admitted to using the class A substance himself and even asked the officers, “Do you want some? Yeah, you’ve got it here – f**king take it,” while reaching into his pocket.
Police seized 11 bags of cocaine and a large sum of cash from Lamaj. He was charged on August 6 with possession with intent to supply a class A drug and appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
Lamaj later pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court on September 3 and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Marchant stressed the wider impact of drug dealing, saying: “The harm caused by drug dealing goes far beyond a single street transaction. It brings disruption to residents, fuels anti-social behaviour, and creates a general sense of insecurity within the community.”
He also praised the local community for reporting Lamaj’s activities, noting that police patrols in the area remain ongoing.
