
In a significant milestone for digital transformation in Borno state, the Dikwa Digital Literacy Centre was on Sunday commissioned by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Zulum commended the efforts of the Borno State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (BICTDA) for its commitment to government’s digital transformation initiatives.
He urged the agency to expand the centre, assuring that the government would provide maximum support.
The governor also commissioned a new government lodge built by the state Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement +RRR) under the leadership of Engr. Mustapha Gubio.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of BICTDA welcomed the governor and his entourage, pledging the agency’s commitment to achieving the set objectives of digital transformation in Borno.
He also urged the stakeholders of the communities, particularly the representatives of the areas, including senators, representatives, and state assembly members, to support the laudable achievements of His Excellency for sustainability.
The commissioning of the Dikwa Digital Literacy Centre marks a significant step towards enhancing digital literacy and promoting economic growth in Borno state. With the support of the state government and stakeholders, the centre is poised to play a vital role in bridging the digital divide and empowering citizens with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age.
