No fewer than four scavengers have lost their lives and unspecified numbers wounded when a bomb exploded in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday, local sources said.
BusinessDay gathered that the incident occurred at Banki town, Bama local government area of the state.

According to the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) source who confirmed this to our Correspondent said the victims brought an unexplosive Improvised device(IED) into the town after mistaking it for metal scrap.
“They thought it is a metal scrap. They took it to the town, and the bomb exploded while they were trying to unbundle it and killed four of them at the spot and others wounded,” the CJTF source said.

The source added that the deceased have buried according to Islamic rites.
Ealier, the Borno State government had suspended the activities of scavengers across due to incessant attacks.
