Imo state Correspondent of Blueprint Newspapers, Chidiebere Iwuoha, Thursday September 25, 2025 distributed writing materials such as customised exrecise books with the image of his late father, Councillor Eleazar Iwuoha, on them and pens to the students of Umueze Secondary School and Umueze Ogwa High School in Ogwa, Mbaitoli Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo state.
The humanitarian gesture was carried out through his pet project – Eleazar Iwuoha Foundation named after his father, the late Councillor Eleazar Nwadike Iwuoha who represented his ward in the Mbaitoli LGA Legislative Council and died while still in service in 1983, during the administration of the late governor of Imo state, Chief Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe (Dee Sam).
In addition to the writing materials, the foundation instituted an Annual Best Writer Award to be known as Eleazar Iwuoha Best Writer Award to enhance the students’ writing skills and enable them have flair for writing in order to assist in the development of the community, with cash prizes and gifts to be won by the lucky winners, Blueprint.ng reports.
It is worthy to note that the foundation had in the past, identified with the less privileged by giving them money, clothing them and cooking for them to make them have a sense of belonging. But this time around, resolved to equip the students in his community academically.
During the writing materials’ distribution exercise, students as well as their teachers were in jubilant mood and begged for more of the gesture. They also prayed God to keep the founder and coordinator of the foundation alive to achieve his life’s desires and also replenish his pocket.
