Nigerian international human rights activist, Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi, has raised alarm over alleged rising cases of s3xual abuse of young football trainees by coaches.
Omotoyosi, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 said they have handled such cases between 2023 and 2024.
“If you have a son training as a footballer at any local club, please ask him about any conversations his coach has had with him. Between 2023 & 2024 we handled cases in which some coaches sexually abused very young male trainees. Kudos to the DSS for apprehending the accused; they have been prosecuted and were remanded, pending further hearings,” he wrote.
