The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, in Benue State, has officially terminated the appointment of the institution’s Deputy Rector, Dr. Ngurumun Doris Iorchir.
Her dismissal was linked to allegations of insubordination, unauthorized release of confidential information, and other related misconduct.
According to a letter sighted by Nigerian Tribune correspondent, dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to Dr. Iorchir, the decision takes immediate effect.

The dismissal letter was signed by the Registrar, Dr. Muhammed Ndaeji, who also serves as the Secretary to the Council. In the letter, the Council expressed concern over her alleged refusal to “provide some vital documents from your former employers, after two years of probationary period,” which it suggested implied concealment of information.
Findings by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that Dr. Iorchir had been locked in a series of disputes with the polytechnic’s management. These disagreements prompted her to submit a petition against the Rector, Dr. Ashinya Tyover.
In a detailed 94-page petition, she accused the Rector of financial misconduct. She went on to file two additional petitions in which she alleged that the Rector, the Chairman of the Governing Council, members of the Council, and some other individuals within and outside Benue State were allegedly involved in sponsoring terrorism.
It was further gathered that the petitions were forwarded to the institution’s Management Disciplinary Committee. After reviewing the matter, the committee submitted its recommendations to the Governing Council, which later endorsed her dismissal.
An excerpt from the dismissal letter stated:
“At its emergency meeting held on 18th August 2025, the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, considered and deliberated on the report of the Management Disciplinary Committee as it affects you (Doris Iorchir).
Having established the following cases against you: insubordination to constituted authority; arrogance towards the Rector; use of foul language; refusal to appear before the Management Disciplinary Committee; unauthorised disclosure of official information; and refusal to provide some vital documents from your former employers after two years of probationary period.
The Council, based on the recommendations of the Management Disciplinary Committee and in line with Public Service Rules, approved your dismissal with effect from 18th August 2025.
Consequently, you are to hand over all the institution’s properties, identity card inclusive, to the Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic with immediate effect.”
