The Governor of Benue state, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, has approved the appointment of an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to oversee the Lobi Stars Football Club’s operations pending a comprehensive restructuring.
The newly constituted five-member committee is tasked with steering the affairs of the Makurdi-based club and ensuring its registration for the upcoming 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The members of the committee include:Terver Ikya – Chairman, Uja Emmanuel – Media Director, Harry Yachi – Technical Director, Terzungwe Chugh – Admin/Board Secretary (Ministry of Sports) and Barr. Owocho Adejoh Ogiri – Member.
Governor Alia in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Sir Tersoo Kula on Wednesday, emphasised the importance of unity and focus among the committee members, urging them to avoid distractions and work collaboratively to restore Lobi Stars to top-flight football.
The directive by the governor signals a renewed commitment to sports development in the state and the revival of one of its most prominent football institutions.
With the 2025/2026 season fast approaching, fans and stakeholders will be watching closely as the new leadership team sets the tone for Lobi Stars’ resurgence.
