The Executive Director of Beyond Boundaries Legacy Leadership Initiative (BBLLI), a pro-democracy and good governance organisation, Comrade Omaga Daniel, has declared unflinching support for the Dangote Refinery and called on the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) to immediately cease what he described as meddling in the affairs of the privately owned refinery.
Speaking during a solidarity visit to the multi-billion-dollar Dangote Refinery facility in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, on Friday, Comrade Omaga said any attempt to frustrate the operations of the refinery amounts to sabotaging national interest and the wellbeing of millions of Nigerians.
Comrade Omaga noted that since the commencement of production at the Dangote Refinery, Nigerians have started enjoying the benefits of local refining, with significant drops in the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

“It is not just a refinery, it is a lifeline for the Nigerian economy,” he said.
“We cannot fold our arms and allow DAPPMAN, which for years profited from fuel importation and artificial scarcity, to derail this bold intervention by Aliko Dangote. The Dangote Refinery is serving the masses, not the cartel,” he added.
He further lauded Dangote’s ambitious move to introduce about 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) tankers into the Nigerian oil and gas transport ecosystem, describing it as a visionary project that will generate over 8,000 new jobs and drive Nigeria’s transition to cleaner and more affordable energy sources.
“This is the kind of innovation that DAPPMAN never offered Nigerians. For decades, they sat on a broken system and watched people suffer at fuel stations. Now that change is here, they are afraid,” Comrade Omaga said.
The BBLLI boss also praised the refinery for contributing to Nigeria’s newfound status as a fuel-exporting nation.
“For the first time in decades, Nigeria is exporting refined fuel instead of importing it. That is a massive step forward. It proves that if the refinery is supported with regular crude oil supply, it can meet both our local consumption needs and regional export demands,” he said.
He used the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for backing local refining and urged him to ensure consistent allocation of crude oil to the Dangote Refinery to enable it to operate at it’s full capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.
