Bayern chief rules out Nicolas Jackson’s permanent stay

Bayern Munich’s president Uli Hoeness has dismissed the possibility of Nicolas Jackson joining the club permanently, despite the striker arriving on loan from Chelsea this summer.

Jackson, who completed a season-long loan move on deadline day, was reported to have an obligation-to-buy clause worth £56 million included in the deal.

However, Hoeness revealed that the clause is conditional and will not be triggered.

Speaking to Sport1 Dopa, Hoeness said: “The player and his agent contribute for €3m, so we pay €13.5m loan fee.

“There will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start – it will never happen.”

The Senegal international had fallen out of favour at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca and pushed for a move away.

His transfer to Bayern almost collapsed after the Blues initially blocked the deal due to Liam Delap’s injury, before resolving the situation by recalling Marc Guiu from Sunderland.

Jackson, 23, is now focused on reviving his career under Vincent Kompany and could make his Bayern debut on September 13 against Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga.
