The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended six suspected kidnappers operating in the Toro Local Government Area and successfully rescued three abducted victims without harm.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Bauchi, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, said the command acted promptly after receiving a distress call from a vigilant resident of Euga village around 12:01 a.m. on September 29, 2025.
According to him, “The command received a distress call reporting that unidentified gunmen had abducted three men — Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal.”

Wakil added, “In response, a coordinated effort involving the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, Nabordo Division, and local security partners was swiftly initiated.”
He explained that the team tracked the suspects to the outskirts of the village, where they engaged them in a tactical operation that led to the safe rescue of the victims and the arrest of six suspects.
The arrested individuals include Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo.
“The rescued individuals have been joyfully reunited with their families and are in good health,” the PPRO stated.
He added that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects have begun providing valuable information to the police.
“The suspects will be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for further investigation and subsequently charged to court upon completion of the process,” Wakil said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
He urged the public to remain vigilant, saying, “The command will continue to prioritize the protection of lives and property. We also call on residents to report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.”
