Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has removed Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development with immediate effect.
According to The Guardian, the announcement was made in a statement issued early Monday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, the removal of the commissioner was part of what the governor described as a minor adjustment in the composition of the State Executive Council.

“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect,” Gidado stated.
The governor expressed gratitude to the outgoing commissioner for her contributions to the state during her tenure and extended his best wishes for her future endeavours.
This change marks another step in Governor Mohammed’s ongoing efforts to reshape his cabinet for what the administration described as improved service delivery in Bauchi State.
