Deputy governor of Bauchi state, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, Wednesday, inaugurated the cholera steering and technical committees, urging members to approach the assigned responsibilities with passion, professionalism, and urgency.

The deputy governor who is the chairman of the steering committee while inaugurating the committee at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi, regretted that the recurrent outbreaks of Cholera have continued to claim lives, disrupt livelihoods, and place enormous strain on the state’s health system.

Jatau noted that cholera remains one of the major public health threats despite the state government and partners efforts to tackle the disease.

He pointed out that the establishment of the Cholera Steering Committee is not only timely, but essential in achieving the desired objectives.
