Bauchi Agenda Chairman Decries Criticisms Targeted At Ribadu

9 hours ago 28

BAUCHI – The chairman of the Bauchi Transformation Agenda, Honourable Abdullahi Shu’aibu, has lamented the lack of support shown by Northerners towards their kinsmen from the Northeast geopolitical zone, saying that such attitudes hinder regional progress.

Speaking with journalists in Bauchi, Shu’aibu reacted to the recent wave of criticisms directed at the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, describing them as unwarranted and divisive.

“Anytime a citizen from the Northeast is appointed to a national role or federal position, some of his own kinsmen from the North are the first to undermine or reject his leadership,”

“The North must come together as a united and formidable force to pursue common goals for the benefit of all”

“Whatever one may think of the NSA’s past actions, they are part of history. We should focus on progress rather than dwelling on past grievances,” he said

He noted that such attacks only ends up sowing discord among people from the same region, adding that Northerners often act as their own enemies politically, socially and economically.

In regards to the criticism from Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed against Ribadu, Shu’aibu said that such public condemnations do not contribute to the unity and collective progress of the North.

He urged Northern leaders and influential figures, particularly those like Naja’atu Mohammed, to work towards strengthening regional solidarity rather than tearing each other down.

According to Shu’aibu, the region’s persistent issues such as backbiting, internal conflicts, and lack of cooperation have left it without a strong and authentic leadership.
