- Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United, but the striker is having a tough start to life in Spain
- Having made three league appearances so far, with two coming off the bench, reports have it that the forward might be returned to England
- There are insinuations that the club’s hierarchy reportedly described Rashford as “shy, imprecise, and lost” on the pitch
Spanish giants Barcelona have taken a final decision on striker Marcus Rashford amid reports that the striker is unwanted at the Camp Nou.
Having dropped down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, the 27-year-old opted for a loan move to the La Liga outfit.
Since his arrival, Rashford has made three appearances for the club, coming off the bench on three occasions.

His only start was during their clash with Levante, and he was substituted at halftime with Dani Olmo when they were down 2-0 before Hansi Flick’s men went on to win 3-2.
The England international seems to be struggling to settle in Spain, and reports had it that the club’s hierarchy branded the player as “shy, imprecise and lost” on the pitch.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco were not convinced of signing the striker.
Should the Catalan club decide to send the player back to England, they will still pay around £4 million for the deal.
Reacting to the report, popular journalist Guillem Balague stated that Barcelona are not planning to terminate Rashford’s loan deal.
Rashford important to Barcelona
According to the reporter, the forward is still important to the reigning La Liga champions and can be very important for them this season.
Balague said via SPORTbible:
“Absolutely rubbish that Barcelona is planning to end up early @MarcusRashford loan deal.
“Barca told his representative that they have a lot of confidence in Rashford’s potential and that they believe he will recover as a top player.
“No more to say, apart from the fact I agree with Gary Lineker and his treatment by some media.”
Meanwhile, Rashford was in action for England as they defeated Andorra 2-0 in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
He was in action for 68 minutes on the left flank before manager Thomas Tuchel replaced him with Anthony Gordon, per Barca Universal.
It is now nearing two years since Rashford scored an international goal, but Tuchel is pleased with the performance of the forward.
The tactician said:
“He’s clearly a left winger. He had the freedom today to drift inside. He had an excellent training week, and it was obvious we wanted him to start because he trained so, so well on the left side.”

England take on Serbia on Tuesday, September 9, before Rashford returns to Barcelona, who take on Valencia in La Liga action on September 14.
