Barcelona have reportedly set their sights on Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski, who, despite a prolific start this season with 17 goals, is now 36 and in need of a long-term replacement.
Gyokeres, 26, has caught Barcelona’s attention with an impressive tally of 20 goals in just 16 games this season, making him a valuable target for the Catalan giants.
Sporting CP have reportedly placed a hefty €60-70 million price tag on Gyokeres, but Barcelona are exploring ways to reduce the fee by including Vitor Roque in a potential player-plus-cash swap deal, as reported by A Bola via Sport.
Roque, currently on loan at Real Betis, turned down a move to Sporting in the summer, preferring to stay in Spain.
However, the 19-year-old’s return to Barcelona next summer could renew interest in a switch to Portugal.
