The Chairman Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA), Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko, has commended Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, for establishing eye care centres across the 774 Primary Health Care Centres across the country.
A statement made available to our correspondent Tuesday and signed by Alhaji Takko, described Professor Pate’s initiative as visionary one and a further demonstration of focused, pragmatic leadership, his quest for a progressive and healthy Nigeria for the greatest good of the greatest majority.
“We, the people of Bauchi South and the entire Bauchi state, are proud of this initiative which showcases your visionary leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR (the Jagaban of Africa). Your leadership has brought significant benefits to our healthcare system”.
“Using this opportunity, I commend His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for conferring the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Bill Gates, Co-founder of Microsoft and Founder of the Bill Gates Foundation. This recognition acknowledges his decades-long contributions to global health, education, poverty alleviation, and strategic partnerships with Nigeria. Notably, Prof. Ali Pate has had the privilege of collaborating with Bill Gates on several initiatives, further solidifying his commitment to global health and development,” he said.
Takko said: “We also appreciate the long-standing professional relationship between Professor Pate, CON, and Nigeria’s health sector. In this regard, I urge all Bauchi indigenes and well-meaning Nigerians to support Prof. Pate’s efforts to revolutionize the health sector.
“Prof Pate since coming onboard as the Honourable Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare has introduced many monumental reforms, including policy reforms, healthcare infrastructure development and increased access to healthcare services. These reforms have added value to the health sector and social welfare sectors in all its ramifications under the Renewed Hope Agenda on sustainable and efficient healthcare delivery service system.”
Commending Professor Pate two-and-a-half years of pragmatic leadership in the Health and Social Welfare sector, the statement said, the minister has turned things around in ways worthy of commendation, accolades, and emulation.
