Lawal made the remarks on Monday during an interview on
Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television

He was commenting on the country’s security situation.

“Is it amazing that these bandits and terrorists are from
the same tribe and religion? They are better armed than the Nigerian soldiers;
the resources at their disposal are quite enormous, proof that somebody
somewhere is funding them.

“Does it not occur to you that someone or a group of people
somewhere are funding them? Because resources at their disposal are so
enormous. The only thing they have not started doing is to fly helicopters and
carry out their heinous activities,” he said.
