Bandits Abduct Nursing Mothers, Leave Sick Infants Behind In Niger


Gunmen, believed to be bandits, reportedly attacked Usubu community in Niger State late Saturday night, abducting several young mothers while leaving their sick infants behind.

The incident was disclosed on Sunday via a post on X by security analyst Bakatsine, highlighting the alarming nature of the attack.

According to the report, the assailants invaded the community and forcibly took away women, many of whom were nursing mothers, leaving behind babies, some of whom are less than one year old.

“Yesterday night, gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked Usubu community in Niger State, abducted young mothers and left behind their sick babies under 1yr old. When will this horror end in Nigeria?” Bakatsine wrote.

At the time of reporting, security agencies had not released an official statement regarding the attack.
