The suspected bandits again  at the weekend reportedly abducted a royal father,  Oba Kamilu Salami, the Ojibara of Bayagan  in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State.

Already, the suspected bandits have demanded a total sum of N150million as ransom from the members of the family of the royal father.

THISDAY checks revealed that, the royal fathers said to have been  kidnapped around 9:30am last Friday by a gang of bandits who stormed his farm with AK-47 rifles.

A family  source who sought anonymity told THISDAY on Sunday that, the suspected bandits were said to have trailing the royal father  for past few days before they later  stormed his  farm and whisked him away on a motorcycle.

Another farmer, who shared boundary with the royal father’s farm  who sought anonymity told THISDAY that, he  saw the suspected bandits when they invaded the royal father’s farm but he cannot do anything so as to avoid of being attacked by the bandits.

The  family members and associates  of the royal father who also sought anonymity confirmed the abduction of the monarch to royal father on Sunday.

They later said that, the suspected bandits have reached out to  them and demanded the total sum of N50million as ransom before the royal father can get freedom from their captivity.

Also yesterday, a senior police officer with the Ifelodun Divisional Police Headquarters located at Share town who sought anonymity confirmed the incident.

She however said that, the state police command has been informed and they have commenced the manhunt for the perpetrators of the incident and to ensure the royal father rescue.
