Senate leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has expressed sadness over the passing of Oba Adégòkè Olú Adéyem (Arugbajoye ll), the Alárá of Aramoko-Ekiti, who died at the age of 82 years.
Bamidele, in a statement by his Directorate of Media and Public Affairs, condoled with people of Aramoko-Ekiti and the governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, over the demise of the astute public servant, whom he said tirelessly pushed for the development of Aramoko-Ekiti before joining his ancestors.
He recalled that the Late Oba Adegoke as the former chancellor of the state-owned Ekiti State University (EKSU), would be remembered for his numerous contributions to the development of the institution.
Bamidele who also hailed the late monarch as an astute public servant said his reign brought rapid and positive transformation to Aramoko-Ekiti.
“It is on record that during his reign, Oba Adegoke worked with previous state governments and mostly recently the Governor Biodun Oyebanji-led administration to promote peace among his subjects and ensured religious harmony in the culturally enriched Aramoko-Ekiti community.
“His tenure as the Chancellor of the Ekiti State University laid a solid foundation for the development of the institution leading to its recognition as one of the best state universities in the country.
“I hereby condole with Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Alárá in Council and the entire people of Aramoko- Ekiti community,” he said.
