Balmoral to host Africa’s biggest boxing showdown ‘Chaos in the Ring’ on



Nigeria will stage Africa’s biggest boxing event on October 1st, the nation’s Independence Day, as the much-anticipated fight, tagged “Chaos in the Ring” to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Organised by Balmoral Group, the historic event will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN, putting Nigeria firmly on the global boxing map.

Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, the Group CEO of Balmoral, stated that preparations are in full swing to deliver a world-class spectacle, promising fans an unforgettable night of action and celebration.

“After the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’, this is the first time Africa will be hosting such a global boxing event. ‘Chaos in the Ring’ will go down as one of the biggest fight nights ever staged in Lagos, Nigeria, and Africa as a whole,” Dr. Adamu said.

“This historic fight night marks a monumental moment for African boxing. Lagos will deliver a lasting memory for everyone in attendance and the millions watching around the world.”

He added that adequate security measures have been put in place, urging Nigerians to turn out in large numbers to mark the nation’s 65th Independence anniversary with an electrifying showcase of boxing talent.

The fight card features blockbuster matchups, including: Basit Adebayo (Nigeria) vs Tony Rashid (Tanzania) for the WBO Africa Title.

Undefeated prospects Kerem Ozman vs Tosin Osaigbovo in a clash where someone’s perfect record must go.

Yusuf Adeniji also returns to the ring.

International stars are also on the bill, with Cruiserweight contender Brandon Glanton making his Nigerian debut following his explosive bout with former world champion Chris Billam-Smith.

Former IBF world champion Richard Commey and rising star Ray Seitzhanov will also feature, alongside British-Nigerian boxer Dan Azeez, who described fighting in Nigeria on Independence Day as a proud nod to his roots.
