Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been recognised among the world’s elite after finishing fourth in the Women’s Yashin Trophy rankings at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards in Paris on Monday night.
The award, which honours the best female goalkeeper in the world, was won by England and Chelsea shot-stopper Hannah Hampton following a spectacular season where she helped the Lionesses to Euro 2025 glory and guided Chelsea to a domestic treble.

Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger placed second, while Spain’s Cata Coll completed the podium in third.
Nnadozie, who plays for Brighton, capped an outstanding year by leading Nigeria to a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) crown, where she was named the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.
Her consistency at both club and international level has now seen her finish inside the world’s top five, further cementing her reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in women’s football.
The two-time CAF Best Goalkeeper award winner has been pivotal for Nigeria and continues to raise her global profile.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu was also shortlisted for Women’s Team Coach of the Year.
Despite masterminding Nigeria’s WAFCON triumph, he finished behind England’s Sarina Wiegman, who was honoured with the Johan Cruyff Award after guiding the Lionesses to their Euro 2025 title.
