Atiku Meets Influential Buhari’s Ex-Minister Amid Plot to Sack Tinubu

Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria, has deepened his strategy in defeating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, as he met with Isa Ali Pantami, an influential former minister under late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former minister, in a social media post on Friday, September 19, thanked the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for visiting his residence in Abuja.

He explained that the meeting “centred on meaningful discussions about the economy, education, unity, and governance, among other essential topics” and added that he and his family appreciate the former vice president’s visit.

However, the former minister’s post has started generating mixed reactions from some Nigerians who took to the comment section to express their views about the move.

Below are some of their comments:

Michael Obinna called for an alliance between the South-East and the North to stop President Tinubu in the 2027 election:

“The SE must make a deal with North! We can’t allow APC to win in 2027. I’m certain that Atiku will be a much better president than Tinubu.”

Ubandomaj praised the leaders for meeting ahead of the 2027 election:

“The visit is a brotherly one, aimed at meaningful discussions, because Nigeria is indeed going through tough times and needs emergency assistance. Legit.ng earlier reported that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has visited former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido, at his residence in Abuja.
