Atiku in Ogun, holds private meeting with Obasanjo

From Laide Raheem, Abeokuta

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Atiku, who arrived at Obasanjo’s penthouse situated inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) at 12:37pm, was accompanied by the former Governors of Sokoto and Cross Rivers states, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal and Senator Liyel Imoke, among other eminent political stalwarts from the northern region.

The former vice president with his entourage were, however, received by a close ally of Obasanjo, Chief Oyewole Fasawe.

They all went straight into a private meeting with Atiku’s former boss, Obasanjo.

The Sun gathered that the meeting might not be unconnected with the 2027 presidential polls, particularly considering the calibre of the personalities involved.

Emerging from the meeting about two hours later, Atiku declined an interview and simply said it was a courtesy visit to his former boss.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tambuwal and former Governor Imoke equally declined to comment on the purpose of their visit to the former president.
