It was celebration galore in Abuja on Saturday when the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President’s wife, Dolapo Osibajo, Abia state governor, Dr. Alex Otti, former governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, graced the wedding of the first son of the former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.

The wife of the former President, Mrs Patience Jonathan, former governor of Plateau state, Senator Solomon Along, amongst other dignitaries were also present at the St Gabriel Chapliancy Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Durumi 1, Abuja.
A former Chaplain, Rev. Father Steve Dedua, who joined the couple in holy matrimony charged the new couple to be patient with each other and make God the pillar of their marriage.
Father Dedua also said Chikamkpa and Anita are before God as a demonstration of his faithfulness, as such God will continue to uphold their union.
In his words, “From the beginning, God made them male and female and God has decided that they should come together to become one. What God has joined together, let no Man or Woman put asunder”.
He expressed concern over the spate of divorce and that according to statistics in 2023, 26 nations have the highest rate of divorce.
Rev. Dedua further stated Nigeria is rated as the 11th nation of highly divorced people around the world.
“So, Anita and Chikamkpa, I want to tell the world today that they are not going to be part of that statistics. I urge them to depend on God at all time,” he said.
Also, father of the groom and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Amaechi said he was extremely happy and congratulated the couple.
“My prayer to them is that they will be happy and they will find God’s love,” he said.
Also, the mother of the groom, Judith Amaechi, expressed excitement and said, “the most important thing is their happiness and they will have many children.”
