Arsenal stormed to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday with a commanding 5-0 victory over Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners were lifted before kick-off by the announcement of Eberechi Eze’s signing, with the midfielder — a product of Arsenal’s academy — receiving a warm reception as he was presented to the home crowd.
Mikel Arteta’s side made a fast start, with Jurrien Timber heading in from a Declan Rice corner before Bukayo Saka doubled the lead with a sharp right-footed finish.
After the break, Viktor Gyökeres netted his first goal for the club with a driving solo effort. Timber then added his second from another set-piece, before Gyökeres sealed the rout from the penalty spot after youngster Max Dowman was brought down in the box.
The result means Arsenal have won their opening two fixtures without conceding, scoring six goals in the process, as they look to mount another title challenge.
