Army veteran speaks as Nigeria responds to new US religious freedom classification

John David, the influential tech leader and CEO of Data Addicts LLC, has continued to cement his place as a driving force in global digital transformation.

The U.S. Army veteran, widely regarded as a data guru, is reshaping how organisations use analytics and cybersecurity tools to enhance growth, protect infrastructure, and strengthen competitiveness.

His rise comes as Nigeria reacts to its recent designation by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

In a statement, the Nigerian government acknowledged the listing and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting religious freedom.

According to the government, the classification offers “an opportunity to reinforce efforts addressing religious violence and promoting pluralism.”

Nigeria also stressed that it will continue strengthening internal security policies, improve reforms, and work transparently with international partners to safeguard human rights and maintain constructive global relations.

David, whose firm works across emerging markets, says Nigeria’s renewed global scrutiny highlights the growing importance of data-driven security and governance, noting that technology will play a central role in improving national resilience and international credibility.
