The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army has announced that it will conduct a live-fire training exercise in Ajilete, Ogun state, from August 18 to September 28, 2025.
The exercise, officially named the Second Annual Range Classification Exercise 2025, will involve the movement of troops and the firing of live ammunition at the 81 Division shooting range.
According to a statement by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel MA Yahaya, urged the public not to be alarmed by the sounds of gunfire during this period.
“For safety purposes, the Army is advising residents of Ajilete and surrounding communities, particularly farmers and herders, to stay away from the range area until the exercise is concluded.
“The training is part of the Nigerian Army’s 2025 forecast of events and it is designed to enhance the operational readiness of its personnel.”
