The Nigeria Police Force operatives in Enugu have arrested suspected fraudsters, robbers, and cultists and recovered weapons in different operations across the state.

Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated this in a statement.

According to Ndukwe, the command’s Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad arrested three suspects, who were identified as John Joseph, a.k.a. “Musa”, Kingsley Essien Ubong, and Ogbonna Kelvin (43), between August 25 and September 4.

The police recovered a Daihatsu Hijet minibus (Chassis No. S321V 0112161) and a Kymstone motorcycle (Chassis No. LKIPCJL1XM1000263), both without registration or engine numbers, from the trio.

The spokesperson added that a suspected Junior Vikings Confraternity member, Sunday Ebuka Egbuaba, was also arrested on September 2 by operatives of the command’s Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad. A HP laptop, which he allegedly stole from a victim, was recovered from his possession.

In a similar operation on August 30, a suspect, Friday Nwaomege, was rescued from a mob who attempted to lynch him after he and two accomplices at large snatched a Bank ATM card from a male victim.

“He sustained mob-inflicted injuries before police intervention, was treated, and is now in custody. Recovered from him were twelve ATM cards of different banks and an ENTRACO-branded Daihatsu Hijet minibus (Reg. No. ENU 902 YS, Fleet No. R-04/12309), used for the operation and damaged by the mob,” Ndukwe noted.

The spokesperson added that the command is working towards arresting fleeing gang members and recovering more exhibits.

He assured members of the public that the arrested suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
