APGA Soludo wins Anambra governorship election

Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has emerged victorious in the 2025 Anambra governorship election, maintaining a commanding lead across the state.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Soludo has amassed over 422,664 votes, leaving his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of APC, with 99,445 votes. Other results include ADC with 8,208 votes, and PDP with 1,401 votes.

The results reflect APGA’s dominance in the state, with Chukwuma Soludo leading in all 21 local government areas (LGAs) and securing the governorship on his second attempt.

State Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, announced the figures after the collation exercise on Sunday at the commission’s headquarters in Awka.

According to INEC, over 99 percent of results were uploaded to its IREV portal, giving Nigerians real-time access to the unfolding electoral outcome.

This victory is not only a personal win for Soludo but also a reaffirmation of APGA’s enduring influence in Anambra politics. For voters, it marks the continuation of a political era shaped by the party’s policies and initiatives across the state.
