An All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, the Grassroots Mass Mobilisation Support Group (GMMSG), was inaugurated on Sunday in Edo State.
The leadership urged members of the party to ensure that APC wins all seats in next year’s local government elections.
Inaugurating the state leadership, the National President of GMMSG, Hon Faisal Mohammed, emphasized the group’s role in mobilising support for both local elections and the 2027 presidential election.

He said, “We have seen what the governor is doing in this state, which is in line with the president’s desire for the people.
“We are very happy with him, this group is for everybody. The party has promised to always carry us along in the affairs of the party.
“The local government election is coming, and we want the APC to win every seat available.”
High Chief Patrick Chime, the National Secretary of GMMSG, added that the group is exclusively for card-carrying APC members and tasked them with spreading the party’s message across the state.
“The new APC constitution now formally recognises support groups for the party, and it is our duty to ensure grassroots mobilisation is effective,” he said.
State Coordinator Princess Omoyemwen Adeyinka-Afolabi outlined the vision and mission of GMMSG, saying, “The vision of GMMSG is clear: to galvanise the strength of the people at the grassroots, amplify their voices.
She added, “We aim to ensure that no one is left behind in the democratic and developmental process.”
“ We are committed to being a platform where the concerns, aspirations, and talents of our people are not only heard but acted upon.”
