Prof. Yilwatda made this known on Wednesday, during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
He stressed that the APC is well-prepared and remains the “preferred political party for Nigerians.”
“Look at it this way, we had our National Executive Council, NEC, that elected me.
“There was no single opposing voice from the APC members.
“No governor or National Assembly member and no divergent voice across the country on my election,” Yilwatda said.
He contrasted the APC with other political parties, noting their internal crises and legal battles.
“Unlike other political parties, you know what is happening there.
“The kind of internal wrangling or crisis. Lack of democracy within them, taking themselves to court on several issues,” he stated.
Highlighting the party’s internal unity, the APC chairman pointed to the success of recent by-elections.
“We had a bye-election. You discovered how smooth it went. No court case or crisis across all the constituencies we won.
“This tells you the type of internal democracy that the APC has,” he explained.
Yilwatda reaffirmed his confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ability to secure re-election in 2027, stressing that the party’s strength lies in its stability and organizational structure.
“Our party (APC) is intact, we are still formidable, prepared, and remain the preferred political party for Nigerians,” he declared.
