The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at former Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, following his recent assertion that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) would take over Aso Rock and the Lagos State Government House in 2027.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Lagos APC spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, dismissed Aregbesola’s remarks as a mere “desperate bid for relevance,” describing his position as “political suicide of the highest order.”
Oladejo accused the former governor of attempting to undermine the same political structure that elevated him from being a commissioner in Lagos to governor of Osun State and later a minister at the federal level. He insisted that “betrayal is not a political strategy.”

The APC spokesperson further criticised the ADC for making Aregbesola its political figurehead, stressing that such a move would only drive the party toward failure.
“Lagos and Nigeria are not conquered by soundbites. Our people vote for performance, not fairy tales. The APC’s record is visible on the roads, in our schools, in our hospitals, and in our reforms,” Oladejo stated.
He maintained that Nigerians would reward the APC at the polls in 2027 for its achievements, while Aregbesola and the ADC would face “a reality check” over their overblown ambitions.
